macOS 27.3 Brings Live Activities to Macs Without Dynamic Island‎

The new MacBook Pro models with touch-enabled OLED displays feature the Dynamic Island instead of a notch, and it includes support for Live Activities. Fortunately, other Apple silicon Macs will not entirely miss out, as the macOS 27.3 update enables Live Activities for apps like Apple Music, Clock, and Voice Memos in the macOS menu bar. The first macOS 27.3 developer beta released this week enables Live Activities support in the menu bar for several of Apple's built-in apps, along with things like screen recording. The update is expected to be released in December. Third-party Mac apps can also implement Live Activities support now. "With Live Activities, users can now get timely updates at a glance, and can accept an AirDrop request or pause a song with a tap of their finger," explained Apple, in its press release for the MacBook Pro models with OLED displays. macOS 26 and later already supported Live Activities mirrored from an iPhone.Related Roundup: macOS Golden GateTags: Dynamic Island, Live ActivitiesRelated Forum: macOS Golden GateThis article, "macOS 27.3 Brings Live Activities to Macs Without Dynamic Island" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums
