Kentucky State basketball player expected to be released from federal custody, lawyers say‎

Amina Seck, the Kentucky State women’s basketball player who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Aug. 7, is expected to be released from federal custody within 24 hours, her lawyers told The Athletic on Tuesday. Seck’s attorney, Hishem Alsalman, said her bond was set at $2,500 at a hearing Tuesday, and once that amount is posted, Seck will be free to leave the Grayson County Detention Center, where she’s being held as she awaits her next immigration hearing.
