Christa Pike, the woman who survived a lethal injection execution attempt in Tennessee Wednesday night, is still alive Thursday afternoon, her lawyers said in a news conference.
Christa Pike is in critical condition after two botched lethal injection attempts, with her attorneys saying the needle may have pierced through her veins.
Christa Pike, 50, was sentenced to death after being convicted of the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer.
Pike’s lawyers have asked for her death sentence to be commuted following the botched execution.
