President Trump said Friday that he is banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, the latest move to target media outlets over their reporting.
Trump has repeatedly urged broadcasters to drop comedy or news programs he dislikes or that have joked about or criticized him or his administration.
The US president has had a tense and fiery relationship with the US media throughout his political career.
In an insult-laden post on Truth Social, President Trump said he was instituting the ban because of reporting from the outlets that he deemed “fake news.”
"I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW... and Politico... from the White House as a result of their constant 'reporting' FAKE NEWS!" Trump said on his Truth Social network.
