Mr. Buffett, 71, is succeeding his father, Warren, but will not be running the company’s day-to-day operations.
Warren Buffett is stepping down as Berkshire Hathaway chairman effective immediately. The 96-year-old billionaire's son, Howard, will become Berkshire's new chairman.
This is the second post he has resigned from in a year. At the start of 2026, he stepped aside from the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Greg Abel took the mantle of the $1 trillion conglomerate from him.
