The Trump administration says it could save power plants more than $300bn and 'unleash' American energy.
The move would overturn a 2024 Biden administration rule requiring power plants to control planet-warming pollution.
The rule, which is expected to face immediate legal challenges, also could prevent future administrations from regulating greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, sources said.
