This decision between the Texans and Stroud came down to the wire.
The Houston Texans and quarterback C.J. Stroud have decided to wait until after the 2026 season to try to negotiate a long-term deal.
C.J. Stroud became eligible for a contract extension for the first time in his career earlier this summer, but that new deal will have to wait until after Stroud completes his fourth season in the league.
