President Donald Trump took centerstage at the GOP’s first ever midterm convention, urging voters to think of him when they cast their ballots in November. The president also announced that if Republicans hold both the House and Senate after the elections, he’ll push for every U.S. citizen to receive a $5,000 “dividend.” NBC’s Garrett Haake reports for TODAY.
In his convention speech, the president floated a $5,000 “Trump Dividend” for every adult American if Republicans keep control of Congress. The idea, like many others, may not come to pass.
