Como extends contract of forward Roberta Picchi after her breast cancer diagnosis‎

Italian soccer club Como has given forward Roberta Picchi a contract extension in what it called a “continued commitment” after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Picchi's diagnosis came after she helped Como win promotion to the top tier of Italian women's soccer for the first time last season and weeks before its first women's Serie A game. “Roberta will now begin her treatment, supported throughout by the club’s medical team, who will work closely with the specialists responsible for her care,” Como said in a statement on Monday.
