A fire alarm went off in the middle of the night at the hotel where most of the Women's Basketball World Cup teams were staying early Sunday morning. There was no fire, someone had pushed the emergency alarm button in the elevator, according to Australia coach Sandy Brondello. “That’s a what-if situation, isn’t it?” Brondello said smiling.
Teams competing at the women's basketball World Cup in Berlin had a scare in the early hours of Sunday when the fire alarm went off at their hotel. The alarm went off shortly after 2 am (0000 GMT) and all teams had to wait in the street until the all-clear was given.
