A federal judge reinforced the constitutional right to birthright citizenship Wednesday, blocking President Donald Trump’s latest executive order to limit it.
A federal judge has temporarily blocked a Trump executive order that would prevent certain people from automatically becoming U.S. citizens at birth.
Ruling follows a 6-3 decision from the Supreme Court that found Trump's effort to limit birthright citizenship illegal.
The US Supreme Court on June 30 rejected that initial effort to end birthright citizenship for children whose parents were not American citizens or legal permanent residents, known as green card holders.
