The change marks the second US-based tech giant to comply with President Donald Trump's controversial order.
The move by Apple on Tuesday followed a decision by Alphabet late on Saturday to change the name of the lake on its Google Maps for US users
US President Donald Trump ordered the change after trade talks with Canada collapsed in August.
Following pressure from President Donald Trump and a change to the GNIS, Apple Maps has been updated, renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America.Lake Ontario is now shown as Lake America for Apple Maps users in the United StatesApple Maps was drawn into the middle of a trade disagreement between the United States and Canada, by President Trump changing the name of one of the Great Lakes. After being contacted by Trump and nudged to do so, Apple has now updated Maps to update the name of Lake Ontario.Users searching for Lake Ontario will now be greeted by a sight of "Lake America."
