US president says deal secures majority control of more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela.
President Trump says the U.S. has entered into a deal with Venezuela to take control of 65 billion barrels of oil "at no cost to the American taxpayer." Secretary Marco Rubio also claiming this deal a "huge win for both the American and Venezuelan people."
The announcement of the deal comes nearly nine months after the U.S. military at Trump's direction carried out an operation to capture Venezuela's president Nicolas Maduro and spirit him to the United States
