Verheij syndrome is a rare genetic disorder caused by the impairment of splicing, a critical process in RNA processing. Using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans, researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Aging have demonstrated that this disruption affects metabolic pathways that rely on vitamin B12.
