New rumor downgrades the Redmi K100 Pro Max's chipset‎

The first details about the upcoming Redmi K100 Pro Max were outed all the way back in March, and today Digital Chat Station has shared some new information about the device on Weibo. Interestingly, in March the K100 Pro Max was said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, but now it seems like Redmi has instead opted for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. If the original plan was to go with the next-gen SoC, then this is most likely a cost-cutting measure related to the ongoing chip shortage.
