The Pentagon says that the U.S. military has launched retaliatory strikes on Iran after a commercial vessel was hit in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had teased a potential retaliation against Iran while speaking to reporters at the White House, just hours after claiming that Iran had violated the ceasefire agreement signed last week.
The U.S. launched strikes against Iran on Friday in response to drone attacks on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week, which President Donald Trump called a violation of the ceasefire agreement, U.S.
Trump said US forces shot down three drones during an Iranian attack on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
President Trump accused Iran of a "foolish violation" of the ceasefire with the U.S. after an Iranian drone struck a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz. CBS News' Ed O'Keefe has more.
