France homers, Sears wins season debut as Padres beat Braves 5-2 for 3-game sweep‎

Ty France homered and JP Sears won his season debut for the San Diego Padres, who beat the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves 5-2 on Wednesday night for a three-game sweep. The Padres have won five of seven heading into a home weekend series against the NL-West leading Los Angeles Dodgers. The Padres lost two of three when the Dodgers visited in mid-May. The Dodgers lead the Padres by nine games.
