Thailand's Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, a lawyer and the eldest of the king's seven children, has died at 47 after three years in a hospital, royal officials said. She was an advocate for women's rights.
The princess, who was known for her legal work, died in a Bangkok hospital after years of illness.
She was suffering from an abdominal infection and "her condition continued to worsen", the Bureau of the Royal Household said in a statement, until she "passed away peacefully" on Thursday evening.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the king's eldest daughter, had been in a coma since December 2022.
