Showing empathy can make you more attractive, even when you frown‎

People who smile empathically at someone's happiness or frown at their suffering become more attractive. Conversely, smiling out of schadenfreude does not make someone any less attractive. Roujia Feng will defend her Ph.D. thesis on May 26, based on research into the social consequences of expressing (counter)empathic emotions.
