PWHL expanding to Las Vegas and Hamilton next season‎

The PWHL is officially expanding to Las Vegas and Hamilton, Ont., for the 2026-27 season, the league announced Wednesday. The Las Vegas franchise, which The Athletic reported on Tuesday, will play its home games at T-Mobile Arena, home of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights. The rink has a capacity of 17,500 for hockey and boasts one of the best atmospheres in the NHL. Hamilton will play at TD Coliseum, which recently underwent a $300 million renovation. PWHL adding expansion teams in Las Vegas and Hamilton, Ontario, with 1 more coming to reach 12‎

The PWHL delivered a double-shot of expansion news on Wednesday, announcing it is bringing women’s pro hockey to the distinctly different markets of Las Vegas and Hamilton, Ontario. The Las Vegas team will be formally introduced at a news conference at the Vegas Golden Knights’ home arena later Wednesday, with Hamilton to follow on Thursday, the PWHL said. “There’s a lot of excitement and adrenaline and a lot of 'Let’s go,'” league executive vice president of business operations Amy Scheer told The Associated Press about an expansion process that began with the addition of Detroit last week.
