The camp had been defending its right to reopen at the end of May in ongoing legislative hearings investigating safety issues at the camp following the deadly flooding in July.
Camp Mystic withdraws application to open for summer
This comes on the heels of the first public hearing over last summer's Fourth of July floods that killed more than 100 people across the Hill Country, including 27 girls at Camp Mystic.
The camp said it informed the Texas Department of State Health Services on Thursday that it is withdrawing its application for a summer 2026 camp license.
