US officials believe the shooting related to the Democratic politician's ongoing divorce with Cerina Fairfax, a dentist.
Former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax shot and killed his wife and then turned the gun on himself what police described as a murder-suicide in their home in Annandale, Virginia, police said Thursday.
Mr. Fairfax served as lieutenant governor from 2018 to 2022. The couple’s teenage children were home, the police said, and one of them called 911.
