The company had clashed with the military over how officials wanted to use its cutting-edge A.I. model. The order could vastly complicate intelligence analysis and defense work.
There has been a weeks-long feud between Pentagon and Anthropic over concerns about how military could use AI at war.
President Donald Trump said that he was banning federal agencies from using the services of AI company Anthropic. The declaration comes after months of increasingly heated rhetoric between the Defense Department and Anthropic over the military’s use of the company's systems.
"We don't need it, we don't want it, and will not do business with them again," the president wrote in the post.
