Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss won a legal battle against the NCAA for a sixth season of eligibility after a state judge ruled the NCAA “operated in bad faith" in denying his 2026 season request.
Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss' bid to return to Ole Miss for 2026 gained some momentum on Thursday.
The NCAA denied Chambliss’ waiver request Jan. 9, and after Chambliss appealed, the organization’s Athletics Eligibility Subcommittee upheld the denial on Feb. 4.
In saying “the NCAA ignored its own rules,” a Mississippi judge granted Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss a preliminary injunction Thursday against college athletics' governing body, allowing him to receive an extra year of eligibility so he can play next season. The NCAA denied Chambliss' waiver request Jan. 9, and after Chambliss appealed, the organization's Athletics Eligibility Subcommittee upheld the denial on Feb. 4.
Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss was granted an injunction by a Mississippi judge on Thursday. He will be eligible to play in the 2026 season.
