The change comes as the federal government has provided accounts of fatal shootings that have sometimes conflicted with local officials and witness videos.
The decision follows bipartisan push for more accountablility after two US citizens were shot and killed by federal immigration officers in Minnesota.
All federal immigration agents in Minneapolis will begin wearing body cameras, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said Monday, a policy that could be rolled out nationwide.
