US President Donald Trump has ordered a blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela.
President Trump announced on social media Tuesday a "total and complete blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers" going in and out of Venezuela. Some details remain unclear, including when the order would be implemented and how many tankers could be involved.
The move is an escalation of military operations and a pressure campaign against Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela’s leader. But its scope and economic impact are not clear.
