It comes a week after the US seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, in a move that intensified pressure on its government.
President Trump on Tuesday called for a "total and complete blockade" on all sanctioned oil tankers that enter or depart Venezuela, as the administration heaps pressure on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
The order comes a week after the US military seized an oil tanker off Venezuela's coast.
