Paramount has launched a $108.4bn (£81bn) hostile bid for Warner Bros, challenging Netflix, which had reached a $72bn (£54bn) takeover deal with the company.
Paramount making a bid to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, swooping in just days after Netflix announced a $83 billion deal to purchase a large part of the media giant.
Paramount says its proposal is a "superior alternative" for shareholders than the rival offer from Netflix.
The offer to shareholders comes days after Warner Bros. agreed to sell its streaming and studio business to Netflix.
Paramount Skydance's $30 per share offer comes just days after Netflix agreed to buy parts of Warner Bros. in a deal valued at $82.7 billion.
